Congrats on the new ink — now let’s keep it looking clean, crisp, and healed the right way.
The First Few Days (Days 1–3)
If we applied a bandage:
Leave the bandage on for 7 days, as instructed.
If it becomes irritated or starts peeling up, you can remove it early.
Once removed, wash gently with Dial Gold antibacterial soap and warm water.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel (don’t rub).
You don’t need to wash the tattoo while the bandage is on — just once after removal.
Do not moisturize during the bandage period.
If you didn’t get a bandage:
Wash gently with Dial Gold antibacterial soap and warm water 2–3 times per day.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel (don’t rub).
Do not moisturize for 2–3 days — your tattoo is an open wound, and moisturizing too soon can attract bacteria.
Cleanliness Is Key
Wash your tattoo 2–3 times a day during the first week (if not bandaged).
Wash again if anything touches it (dirty hands, clothes, pets, etc.).
Avoid soaking, swimming, or direct sun exposure.
Moisturizing (After Day 2–3)
Apply a thin layer of:
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter, or
Aquaphor (very lightly)
A little goes a long way — don’t suffocate the tattoo.
What NOT to Do
Don’t pick or scratch.
Don’t re-bandage.
Avoid scented lotions or anything with alcohol.
Have a question? Just reach out — I’d rather you ask than guess.
